Social/Emotional Learning

We promote and support social/emotional learning.

Burbank USD partners with the Burbank Family Service Agency to offer one-on-one counseling to children in need of more specific social/emotional support.

We partner with Emily Phillips Yoga to bring yoga and mindfulness instruction to our school community:

  • Boost self-esteem and confidence
  • Increase body awareness and mind-body connection
  • Enhance concentration, memory, and focus
  • Develop strength and flexibility
  • Improve academic performance and classroom behavior

Roosevelt teaches social/emotional skills through weekly Second Step lessons w/ Mrs. Melgar. Students learn to build positive relationships, process emotions, deal with difficult peer interactions, and more.
